Hudson Valley Man Killed After Being Pinned Under Pickup Truck

A 36-year-old Hudson Valley man is dead after he became pinned under a pickup truck Wednesday morning, state police said.

Troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 for a report of a man pinned underneath of a vehicle located at 113 Tyrell Road just east of the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Pleasant Valley at about 10:35 a.m.

According to a preliminary investigation Timothy Russell Jr. of Pleasant Valley, was laying on the ground, performing work to the underside of his Ford F250 pickup truck when it is believed that the vehicle rolled backwards, which resulted in the victim receiving fatal injuries, police said.

Members of the Pleasant Valley Fire Department and Mobile Life EMS arrived on scene to render medical assistance however, the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner.

The incident, which appears to be accidental in nature, remains under investigation.
